Sultry songstress Joanne Weaver has a fresh new video for your enjoyment. “Golden Earrings” is a dark orchestration full of hypnotic electronic beats. GroundSounds recently caught up with Joanne, who had this to say about the single:
“I wanted to bring “Golden Earrings” to life because I love its smoldering sensuality, its moody minor chords, and its protagonist’s yearning for love and romance, which I can easily relate to myself. If I drift off into my own imagination, I can picture myself there, around a campfire, locking eyes with a mysterious man, entreating him with my eyes and sparkling golden earrings…it’s the same human story that’s been happening for centuries. Peggy Lee made the song popular in 1947 – I just love her version – and the lyrics and melody are timeless; foreboding, forever. I love the dark, the mystical, the magical….what’s hidden beneath the surface…and this song has all of that going on.
“Golden Earrings” is off of Joanne’s upcoming concept album Interstellar Songbook II.
