Josiah is back with some fresh new visuals for his track “Can You Hear It.” The song will be featured on Josiah’s upcoming album, which is expected to drop later this year.  After a hiatus from music Josiah released the single “Long Gone” last September, ironically enough Josiah is far from ‘gone’ in any sense. His free-spirited mellow mood and chill vocals has a staying power that stirs up excitement. GroundSounds recently caught up with Josiah to discuss his latest video and upcoming record, check it out below and watch his fresh new video above!

People from all walks of life seem to enjoy a little Josiah- what do you enjoy most about your fan-base?

The fans are great, they can really lift you up when you’re down. Also, we geek over candy via the internet.

Can you tell us about the inspiration and writing process for “Can You Hear It?”

This was a pretty quick one. The first verse came to me and I sat on that for a few months. Didn’t really mess with it, and I went back to it one day and finished it all in a few minutes.

What was it like the day you shot the music video for “Can You Hear It?”

Took months and months of planning. All the actors, the wardrobes…

Music has already taken you on a long journey and your future is looking bright- what advice would you give to other aspiring singer/songwriters with big dreams?

Get off the internet and go do things. Make some mistakes, accidentally catch some sunrises. Play shows, write, be headstrong, and do things. Don’t read too much advice, and don’t take what you do read too seriously. Also, the first thing that comes out of you creatively isn’t always your best. Keep digging.

We at GroundSounds are excited for you upcoming record…what can you reveal to us about it? What can fans expect/look forward to? It there a title or release date?

I won’t give a date or title, I don’t want to eat those words…but it does it exist and it’ll be released this year(2015). I really got into guitar when I was taking some time off, so the record is mostly guitar driven…I also let the songs go through a lot of different changes before I finalized it. It’s a little more raw production wise, but songwise I took my time with them to let them develop. A lot of fun to play live.
