Chicago based three-piece Evasive Backflip is a uniquely explosive outfit that has recently garnered much attention and excitement after the release of their debut full-length, Boys on Boys on Boys on Boys on Boys on Boys. Taking inspiration from jazz, punk and the works of Carl Stalling (Looney Tunes), Evasive Backflip’s music is hard to pin down and constantly evolving. Evasive Backflip just finished up their new album Pussy Up and it is premiering right here on GroundSounds. The trio had this say about the album:
We had just released our full-length ‘Boys on Boys on Boys on Boys on Boys,’ which was a proud moment for us, but that album was 2 years in the making so by the time it was released, we had already played those songs all over and also added our brass player, Corey. So as soon as ‘Boys on Boys’ was released, we were really itching to get back in the studio and drop another stinky release right away. One that was a little dirtier, a little groovier, and really just a quick-jab statement of our progress as a band. A sort of ‘response’ to ‘Boys on Boys’. We take a lot of our inspiration from the thriving Chicago music scene.”
