As he gears up for a possible album release in 2016, Nashville rock-n-soul musician and producer Shane Tutmarc is releasing one fresh new track every month, this month GroundSounds is exclusively premiering “Out of the Dark,” it’s a relaxed guitar-driven track featuring an ethereal vibe.

Shane had this to say about his latest single:

“‘Out of the Dark’ is probably my favorite song of the singles series so far.  It took me on more of a journey than the others.  It originally started out as a sort of Tom Petty-esque folk song, but then the song started morphing into a more unique sound.  This song is now a benchmark for what I want to accomplish more in the future.  A sound where the genre lines are blurred, and the lyrics aren’t as straight-forward.  The arrangement has electronic sounds bumping up against organic instruments, and forging a new sound.  Anyone who’s dealt with depression and dark times in their life should be able to understand where this song is coming from.  Instead of wallowing in those feelings, the song becomes a mantra of hope, expressing a desire for transcendence.”
