Featuring catchy hooks with added elements of grunge, blues and classic rock LA based duo Decoded (Heather Miller, Derek Jordan) have found their own sonic niche in a flooded landscape of sub-genres.  The two have definitely perked up our ears and now they are premiering their fresh new track “Love Is Dead” exclusively on GroundSounds.

They had this to say about their latest single:

“This song is tied into ‘Topanga‘  where we are told to believe at a very young age that pure, innocent love is real.  Some people are fortunate to find it.  Others, like myself, not so much.  So you continue to hold onto hope as you go through your teenage years, and then your twenties.  And then you’re in your thirties and wonder, this may never happen for me.  It becomes a phantom of an ideal.  You keep chasing but its never there.  But I am an optimist and where people have given up on love, I know how important it is and how much I want it.  Life has no meaning without love.  So in essence, “Love is Dead” is about how all signs point to the extinction of love, yet I still believe in the idea of it.  I can’t give up.”

“Love Is Dead” is the bonus track on Decoded’s Topanga (Deluxe Edition) EP, out July 14th, stream the fresh new track below.
