Featuring funk-infused electronica to introspective dance ballads LA-based indie/electronic duo Solar Heist are on the move. Composed of singer/songwriter Jason Powers and longtime DJ/producer Justin Karcich, the pair recently released their sophomore EP, Day Trip. Premiering exclusively on GroundSounds is the video for the second single off of the EP, “Take You Home.” The video was shot entirely on Go Pros and was directed by Misha Vladimirskiy.
Solar Heist had this to say about the video for “Take You Home”:
“Our good friend Misha Vladimirskiy heard the EP and was down to direct a video for us. Misha is a funny and talented dude, and is also the type to not really plan things – he prefers to improvise. We had no clue what we were getting into, or what was going on until about a day or two before we shot it. The one thing we were certain of was to shoot it all with Go Pro’s. Visually and conceptually, his idea was to be as simple as possible while creating a dark cinematic tone and vibe.”
Solar Heist are currently preparing for their live performance, which they plan to unveil in Los Angeles and take on the road this summer and fall. Check out the fresh new visuals for “Take You Home,” below.
