LA based Topher Mohr has spent the past two years really honing his craft as a songwriter. His latest record Phlowers is a homage to 70’s era funk rock, however tucked into this LP is the bossa nova-esque gem “Little House,” an acoustic performance of this track is now premiering exclusively on GroundSounds.

Topher had this to say about “Little House”:

I’d been listening to a lot of Brazilian artists; Gilberto, Jobim, Bonfa, Gil; so it made sense I would write something with a Bossa Nova feel.  I had this idea of a bohemian woman in the 1950’s or ’60’s.  She’s fascinating and free thinking and naturally beautiful.  Maybe we have a slightly forbidden encounter.  I wanted to lay out the scenery and let the listener’s imagination fill in the rest of the story.

Watch the exclusive acoustic performance of “Little House” and check back for more on this artist soon.
