Brooklyn based indie-folk singer/songwriter Joni Fatora put a fresh new twist on a classic upbeat single and we’re glad she did! Inspired by a Ryan Adams cover song, Joni took the iconic track “You Make My Dreams Come True” by Hall & Oates and flipped it upside down, giving it a fresh new twist and now it is premiering exclusively on GroundSounds.

Joni had this to say about her latest single:

I wanted to cover a song in the same way Ryan Adams covered Wonderwall, which is one of my all-time favorite covers. By changing the pallet of that song, he completely flipped the context of Wonderwall. I wanted to take an upbeat song and see if I could turn it into something really creepy and full of longing. The words can take on a whole new meaning when given a different atmosphere to live in.

The cover is the first song from a series of singles to be released by Fatora this fall. Stream  “You Make My Dreams Come True” below and check back for more on this artist soon.
