Little Rock, Arkansas based rock band Bombay Harambee, have seeped up from the fertile eighties and early nineties that once nurtured luminaries like Sonic Youth. The fellas are pumping out heavy sonic goodness and are gearing up for their debut album Goldmine. Featured on the LP and premiering exclusively on GroundSounds is the fresh new track “Interval.”

Lead singer Alexander Jones had this to say about ‘Interval’:

“Interval” is a song about denouement, which is ironic as it is the opening track on the LP. The title refers to the chord change from A# to D that undergirds the chorus and verse. It reflects too the stark interruption after the bridge. And lyrically, “Interval” refers to the passage of time between the decisive moment and its aftermath, or the window between action and reaction. Or when something you’ve counted on has come to an end, but you’re not quite ready to pick up (or sweep away) the debris, content with passive observation of the pieces left lying on the floor.

It was one of the final songs recorded during our second Goldmine session at Fellowship Hall Sound. I play an SG through an old Guild PA. Trent plays lead on a Tele through an AC30. We really like the stereo balance on the mix, and it is a fairly faithful rendition of how the song sounds live.

Stream “Interval” below and check out Goldmine, out February 19th.
