Folk-pop songstress Jessica Rotter is gearing up for the release of her forthcoming eleven track record ‘Plains,’ featured on the album and premiering exclusively on GroundSounds is the fresh new track “Hit the Ground.” With somber strings, piano and guitar, the song is a chill melodic wonder that pumps out pure sonic goodness.

Jessica had this to say about her latest single:

“I wrote Hit the Ground when I kept going back to a relationship that ultimately was tearing me apart. I imagine that throughout the song I muster the courage to say goodbye and finally develop a shield over my heart and move on. The background vocals are meant to echo like ghosts of my past and beacons of my future. I imagine my emotion pours past me and I’m almost running after it until it finally fades away and I’m left changed.”

Check out “Hit the Ground” below ‘Plains’ will be released April 22nd nationwide.
