“Essentially the song is about falling in love with someone and not realizing how damaged you are yourself until you experience it in that same damage in your significant other. I think we’re blind to a lot of the trauma that we’ve grown up with and have accepted as normal and this song speaks to realizing this in the midst of a serious relationship.”
