5 Artists To Watch in 2017

Brendon Goldwasser

5artiststowatchI know, I know, it’s yet ANOTHER End-of-Year list! Luckily, I’m just as overwhelmed as you probably are, so I intend to keep this one short and to the point. There are many new artists on the rise, but you won’t find any long-winded reviews here, we keep it short, sweet and to the point. I stand behind these fresh new musicians and I hope you dig them as well. With all that said, here are five artists (in no particular order) that I believe will have a stellar 2017.

The New Investors

We’ve been a fan of this Copenhagen-based group for awhile now and after the release of their debut album earlier this year, we found ourselves hooked even more. They’re already in the studio recording their follow-up, which is definitely going to help catapult them even further into the musical ecosystem on a global level. We can’t wait to hear it!
Maggie Rodgers

Maggie Rogers is one of this year’s most-talked about artists. I guess that’s what happens when a video of Pharrell loving your song goes viral on the internet! In all honesty, though, she deserves every bit of hype. Her debut single above is extremely catchy and a breath of fresh air.
Indigo Palace

We’ve been talking about UK-based Hip-Hop duo Indigo Palace for the past year and have included a few of their tracks on our playlists. We think they’re doing something really special. They released a stellar 6-track EP titled Dial earlier this year and from that point forward, it was easy to see that they were setting themselves up for a killer 2017. This is another act that we truly can’t wait to see blow up a little more next year. Keep up the hustle fellas!
Jakubi

Jakubi is certainly not an unknown group anymore, but we think the Melbourne-based crew is going to blow up on the mainstream scene even more next year. With their infectious mix of Soul, R&B, Funk, and Pop vibes, they’re undeniably addicting to listen to. They’ve also made some awesome music videos, including the one above.
Shy Girls

Portland based singer/songwriter and electronic artist Shy Girls is also not unknown and has been steadily gaining more and more of a following during the past two years. He’s had exceptional releases that have done very well and he has a great live show. We caught him a couple years ago when he was in LA and it was awesome. We’re super excited to hear more new material from him, but for now, we’ll have to make due with his new gem above.
