LA based band Punch Punch Kick is set to release their new self-titled album on June 2nd on Wyatt Blair’s Lolipop Records. The album is full of guitar driven pop and easy hooks, reminiscent of Weezer, Saves The Day, and SR-71.

Today we’re excited to premiere the punchy (pun intended) new track “When You Hang Around.” Make sure the windows are down and the stereo is up loud for this one.

In their own words:

“When You Hang Around” is about the feeling that something is too good to be true, and just about the time that you realize, “Hey! This is real!” you’ve already completely derailed it somehow. I feel like that’s probably the biggest fear that you have at the start of a new relationship. The song is about those extraordinary lengths that you might go to in order to make sure you don’t screw up a good thing.

We knew we wanted the song to retain the melodic elements that were there in the beginning, but we never really know where a song is going to go until we get into the rehearsal studio and play it together as a band, with all of the amps cranked up.
