Miriam Tamar’s new EP, “Firedance,” was released earlier this year, featuring percussionist Keith Jones and Leon Mobley (of Ben Harper’s Innocent Criminals) and immediately debuted in the Top 5 of the iTunes World Music chart. We’re thrilled to premiere the live video of her song “Back To Life” she recorded at The Nest in Los Angeles. Tamar’s voice acts as a stunning instrument, guiding the track and giving “Back To Life” a beautifully distinct mood.

In her own words:

African percussion brings such power to live performances.  I wanted it to drive “Back To Life,” which was written as a source of strength when mourning the death of my friend and my departure from Uganda.  But it’s about hope, too, balanced by the love I found in Africa. Kahlil Cummings (percussion), Kibrom Birhane (keys), Evan Greer (drums) and Micah Keren-Zvi (bass) took the song to a new place in this live video, which we recorded at The Nest in Los Angeles.
