Birmingham, Alabama Americana/Folk artist Joel Madison Blount recently released his new album Our New Moon on September 29th. Themes on the album wind their way through a time of sorrow and brokenness, but ultimately lead the listener to witness redemption and an outpouring of grace. We’re excited today to premiere the video for “Inner Monologue” below! The hazy filter over scenes of nature compliment the pleasant, nostalgic, & compelling track.

Blount on the video:
My friend Jordan Mahy created this video as part of a series focused on providing a visual landscape for three songs from my new album, Our New Moon.

I gave Jordan the liberty to interpret the song from his perspective, and I think the images he chose definitely support the idea of overcoming obstacles. Fear and anxiety are variables that can’t be completely eliminated from our lives, but we can learn to acknowledge them without allowing them to dictate how we live. We’re faced with a choice every single day – we can actively pursue the things that really matter to us or just live passively. Are we willing to accept failure in pursuit of the things that are most important to us? If we want to fully experience joy in the life we were created to live, we must be willing to fail miserably along the way and persevere when things don’t go as planned.
