PREMIERE: Tony Appleseed Shares Spacious New Psych-Rocker “Posion Ivy”

For the past three years, our friends over at Speak Into My Good Eye have been running an annual 24 hour songwriting challenge wherein they task musicians to write and record a new original song in a day. Their fourth run at it just passed with the subsequent compilation of collected songs now set for release on November 17th with all proceeds to benefit the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.

Today, GroundSounds has the exclusive premiere of one of the compilation’s songs, NJ-based artist Tony Appleseed’s “Poison Ivy.” The expansive, mind-bending track finds Appleseed working in sonic pools typically reserved for Wayne Coyne & co to glorious effect. Hard to believe this was all done in such a tight timeframe, but such is the artistic benefit of having a deadline sometimes.

Stream Tony Appleseed’s “Poison Ivy” below and look for Speak Into My Good Eye’s 4th Annual 24 Hour Songwriting Challenge out November 17th here. Our NJ and Asbury Park-based friends can celebrate the release of the compilation on November 18th at Asbury Park Brewery at Freaksgiving: A Friendsgiving Fuzz Fest Presented By:
GardenState Beardos, Little Dickman Records and Cool Dad Music with performances by Dentist, The Rock n Roll Hi Fives and Yawn Mower.
