With “11 Words” we challenge artists to boil down our questions into one word answers. It makes for an interesting exercise and sometimes brings out unexpected answers. On the “final word” artists can elaborate a bit, so fans get a little insight at the end. Today, we interview Scotland’s synth-pop stars PRIDES. Enjoy!

  2. What can we expect from Part 2? MORE
  3. What’s the biggest change/difference you’ve gone through since The Way Back Up? Medication
  4. When you first start writing a new song, what is the word that best describes that process? Vulnerability
  5. Desert Island question…if you were stranded and forced to only listen to the catalog of ONE artist, who would you choose? Peter Gabriel
  6. When you go on stage, what do you want the audience to feel? Warmth
  7. Place you haven’t traveled to that you’d love to see? Vietnam
  8. Best word to describe Glasgow? Smasher
  9. Out of the Blue” has always been a favorite of ours. When you think back on that song, what comes to mind? Genesis
  10. One word to describe your hopes and goals for 2018? MORE
  11. [The Final Word]. How would you describe your fans, and what is the most memorable fan experience/story you’ve had?

PRIDES: We’ve been incredibly fortunate to have built a group of fans who really believe in what we’re trying to say. It’s always been massively important to us to connect with people, to always hang out after shows, to let people know what we’re thinking. Our fans are the business. They’re more like friends at this point. And there are so many stories. It just blows my mind when you meet someone in Amsterdam in your t-shirt, or you’re hanging out in Manhattan after playing a sold out show. And even now getting sent tattoos that people have gotten. It’s amazing.

The guys treated us to some new music last week and we are eagerly anticipating A Mind Like The Tide Part 2. It comes out March 30th and you should do yourself a favor and pre-order that right now. Enjoy the latest track “Born to Be Whole” below!
