Brooklyn is always on the cutting edge of new music, and Super Hi-Fi is no different. Led by bassist Ezra Gale this four piece have been crafting heavy dub and reggae tunes for over 5 years. Punctuated by dual trombones and gut rattling bass lines Super Hi-Fi have certainly mastered the reggae formula but their new single “Little Black Book” marks a departure from their reggae roots. “Little Black Book” is steeped in the west African Afrobeat tradition and unlike their past instrumental gems, this track actually features Ezra Gale on lead vocals. The band is gearing up to release Blue and White on 3/9, and we are thrilled to premiere their creative new music video for “Little Black Book” below!

“This album is a leap for us. There are a lot of new sounds that we haven’t explored before, chief among them is the vocals that I think turn each song into a fuller experience. “Little Black Book” is probably the most different-sounding song on the whole album, for us. There’s acoustic guitar, there’s djembe and talking drum, there’s a lot of backing vocals, and of course the trombones are still in there. So I like this being the first single because it really lets everyone know that we’re up to something different here.” – Ezra Gale (Bass and vocals for Super Hi-Fi)
