Ben Sparaco and The New Effect formed in 2017 when the Florida-born singer, songwriter and guitarist began playing with drummer Anthony Quirk and bassist Adam Discipio. Now based in the flourishing musical oasis of Nashville, TN, Ben and the band have maintained a massive touring schedule, cutting their teeth playing coast to coast in clubs and festivals.

Today we’re pumped to premiere the new video for their song “Scared of the Dark” – streaming below! The video is a welcome glimpse into the studio and recording process. This really allows the instruments, vocals, and big hook of “Scared of the Dark” to shine.

Sparaco on the track:

“I’m playing a lot less lead guitar on this song than I normally would,” says Sparaco. “It’s funny that it worked out that way because the song is about my younger self and a lot of the insecurities that came with growing up and trying to be a musician. When I was younger I was all about being a guitar player. As I’ve grown up I’ve become more focused on songs. This song really shows where I’m at right now with my songwriting, while referencing a past version of myself the whole time.”
