Bay Area Songstress Jules Wants Real Love on New Song, “r u rly sorry”

Hailing from the Bay Area, Jules Pollifrone, better known as Pop singer/songwriter Jules, is quickly becoming one of the top new talents of 2019 with her undeniable voice and infectious new songs like her brand new, “r u rly sorry”. Produced by David Bone and Camron Wroblewski, the San Jose-native is torn in love on the follow up to her buzzworthy 2018 single, “Eclipse”.

On “r u rly sorry”, a mid-tempo pop song influenced by the greats Julia Michaels (“Issues”) and Phoebe Ryan (“Mines”), the rising songbird debates the truth of her love interest words after being betrayed. Questioning honesty, questioning herself, and questioning if the relationship is worth saving. A brilliant touch on a modern-day topic that so many young lovers deal with on the daily.

Jules on the making of “r u rly sorry”:

“I came up with the idea back at home. I was putting away dishes and “r u rly sorry?” Popped into my head. I didn’t think much about it and brought it to David Bone (one of the producers on the record) and he loved it. I didn’t know how the melody would go so I just hopped on the mic and tried to sing the hook a million different ways (which I never do. I never jump on a mic unless I know what I’m singing). I left the studio not sure what we made but when I woke up and listened to the bounce the next morning I was like “this is so me.”

Brief backstory on Jules, the 21-year-old sensation was first exposed to music through her father’s classic rock. Finding her own sound through trailblazing pop stars like Taylor Swift and Lorde. Jules released her first EP at 17. To-date, Jules is best known for her breakout single, “Eyes Shut”, accumulating over 143,000 streams. Definitely one-to-watch in 2019 for any Pop/Dance fan.
