Elad Marish has been a songwriter long before becoming a respected industry figure and President of the American Association of Music Producers, but Beatific is the first collaboration between him and Jeremy Black, known more recently for his collaborations on the Bon Iver and The National-organized music festival PEOPLE.

“In our world, the distinction between genres is rather grey,” Marish says about the diversity of the EP. Where lead single “She Loves Him” is euphoric, sun-drenched psych-folk that Jammerzine exclaimed is “engulfed in serenity and drenched in creativity,” Beatific happily takes a left turn on second single “Smile Dangerous,” a bassy, strutting left turn into synth pop. At the heart of the EP is the project’s name: an eclectic journey into how we find our own beatific moments in an often unbalanced and complicated world.

We are incredibly excited to premiere “Smile Dangerous” today on GroundSounds. The song is bright and energetic, with a huge hook. Any fan of synth-pop will love this one – we’ve been jamming it non-stop and are pumped to share it!

In their own words:

“This song is about sex, lust, and attraction. If there’s whipped cream and chocolate, and a cherry involved, all the better. Herb Alpert’s Tijuana Brass meet’s Justice’s DVNO.” – Elad Marish
