Hailing from the Bay Area, Fat Opie, lead by singer-songwriter Scott Mickelson, have just released a new album! The album Victoryville is an organic collection of really well-written American folk music. The album sounds amazing, mostly due to the fact that it was mixed at Tiny Telephone Studios in San Francisco by Jay Pellicci (Om, The Dodos, Deerhoof, Magik*Magik Orchestra). Scott Mickelson performed at The Hotel Cafe in Hollywood this past weekend and I must say, even with it being an acoustic show, that the songs from the album sounded great live.
