The fine folks over at Filter magazine were kind of enough to extend an invite to us here at GroundSounds to attend an awesome performance of De Lux on the roof of the Burton LA Flagship Store on Melrose. The event hosted a couple DJs playing inside the Burton store while guests could browse and shop the hippest apparel out there. This classy event also featured a nice open bar with friendly staff, which is always a plus!

After browsing clothes, we headed up to the roof of the store which made for the perfect setting for a live performance from the band. The sun was setting, the hills were visible, and the crowd was filled with smiles (not to mention the cutest dogs ever were running around for the entire event). A tip for event planners: invite dogs, especially Corgis and Australian Shepherds. Anyways, back to the music.

For those who are unfamiliar with the group De Lux, they’re based here in L.A and are a post-disco, dance-punk, DIY group that make pretty fun, upbeat music that’s easy to dance to and could have come out of 1979 or ’82 just as easily as 2013. They played a solid one hour set before the DJs took back over and played out the night. Get a sense of the vibe they brought by streaming their single below!
