LA based alt-rockers Charming Liars, recently released the fresh new track “Insomnia” from their upcoming 2018 debut album. The single is pure sonic goodness, a live video performance of the song is premiering exclusively on GroundSounds.
Frontman Kiliyan Maguire had this to say about the bands latest single:
“The inspiration honestly comes from sleep deprivation and the tricks that your mind plays on you when you’re trying so hard to just call it a day. I gave up on the idea of a good night’s sleep and I got up and grabbed my note pad and a couple hours later the lyric ‘I can’t keep my eyelids shut I am insomnia’ was born. For the feel and movement of the song, we wanted that slow dance-y half time vibe for the chorus that would make everyone move. It’s very much a nocturnal song especially when considering the lyrical content and musical dynamic.”
Check out “Insomnia” above, the band is playing Whiskey A Go Go in Los Angeles on Thursday, December 7th with a larger tour in the works for 2018.
