When developing the music video for their newly released single, “Going Shopping,” The Strokes drew inspiration from the iconic visual for Paul Simon’s “You Can Call Me Al.” Hoping to recreate the charm of Chevy Chase’s memorable performance in the original video, the band set their sights on Walton Goggins as their dream choice for the role—despite considering it a long-shot.
Fresh off the momentum of their Coachella performances, The Strokes are continuing their global headline tour with a series of major dates around the world. The run includes a hometown concert at New York’s Flushing Meadows Corona Park, two-night residencies at Red Rocks and London’s The O2, as well as headline shows at Paris’ Accor Arena, Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome, and numerous other international venues.
