FATHER HOOD: BENJI FRANK$’s Journey From Fatherhood to Legacy

Some music is created for a moment, while other music is created to leave a lasting impact. With FATHER HOOD, Grammy nominated producer BENJI FRANK$ transforms his personal experiences into an inspirational story about fatherhood, growth, purpose, resilience, and legacy. Coming soon, the album represents one of the most personal chapters of his career and offers listeners an intimate look into the man behind the music. At its heart, FATHER HOOD is about becoming better, embracing the lessons of the past, and creating something meaningful for the people who matter most.

As BENJI approaches 40, his perspective on life has changed. Watching people he grew up with pass away made him realize just how valuable time truly is. Rather than allowing that realization to discourage him, he used it as motivation to think about the future and the legacy he wants to leave behind. One question became increasingly important to him: What will my children have when I am no longer here to explain who I was? That question became the foundation for FATHER HOOD. The album is his answer, giving his children a collection of stories, emotions, lessons, struggles, and dreams that they can return to throughout their lives.

The title FATHER HOOD represents two important parts of BENJI’s journey. Father represents responsibility, love, protection, sacrifice, accountability, and the commitment to become the man his children need him to be. Hood represents his upbringing, his experiences, the obstacles he faced, the mistakes he made, and the environment that helped shape him. BENJI does not run from his past. Instead, he recognizes that every chapter has contributed to the person he is today. Through FATHER HOOD, he sends an inspirational message that your beginnings do not have to define your ending. The struggles you experience can become the foundation for something greater.

Musically, FATHER HOOD is soulful, cinematic, emotional, and deeply personal. BENJI intentionally built the project around sample based production because he wanted to create a connection between generations. His goal was to take the soul and emotion of the past and bring it into a modern musical experience. Songs such as Fatherhood, Baby, Last Supper, and Therapy explore different parts of his journey. On Therapy, BENJI allows himself to be vulnerable, reflecting on his mistakes, relationships, fatherhood, and his desire to become a better man. His words, “Be the lonely times at night, I think about life. Think about all the wrong I did, I’m tryna get right,” capture the heart of the project. The message is not about being perfect. It is about having the courage to recognize where you need to grow and being willing to do the work.

FATHER HOOD is ultimately a story about transformation. BENJI does not present himself as someone who has mastered fatherhood or figured out every part of life. Instead, he presents a man who is still learning, still growing, and still becoming. That vulnerability is what makes the project relatable and inspirational. Everyone has moments they wish they could change, decisions they wish they could make differently, and chapters they would rather forget. BENJI uses his music to show that the past can teach you without controlling you. Growth begins when you are willing to face yourself honestly and decide that tomorrow will be different.

The album, which is dropping soon, also marks an important professional milestone for BENJI, as it is his first project under STARZ Music Group management and the first album he has completely produced, mixed, and mastered himself. Every creative decision reflects his vision and his story. Yet the most important part of FATHER HOOD may have nothing to do with music. It is the legacy he hopes to leave with his children. One day, they may listen to these songs and hear more than their father’s voice. They may hear his lessons, his struggles, his determination, his love, and his desire to become better. FATHER HOOD is proof that a legacy does not require perfection. It requires intention, courage, love, and the willingness to keep moving forward.
