$onny – From Betrayal to Breakthrough: The Sound of Lost in Lust

Born in Toronto, he spent much of his upbringing moving between Toronto and Los Angeles, gaining a wide range of cultural and musical influences along the way. His latest EP, *Lost in Lust*, is a deeply personal project that explores themes of love, betrayal, and emotional confusion. The inspiration behind the EP comes from a painful chapter in his life involving betrayal from both his best friend and the mother of his child. Though they were no longer together, the calculated nature of the situation left a lasting impact, shaping the emotional core of the project. Through five tracks, $onny dives into the blurred lines between love and lust, capturing the reality of relationships that feel real but are ultimately built on illusions. One standout line from the project—“I need something real, something I can fucking feel”—perfectly reflects his desire for authenticity in a world he feels is often filled with fake energy.

Since beginning his music journey in May 2025, $onny has shown remarkable growth and consistency. His debut track “I’ll Be Okay,” produced and engineered by Jaeonthebeat and featuring Las Vegas artist Carat, marked the beginning of a strong collaborative run. Since then, he’s built a tight-knit creative circle, working closely with producers like BenjiFranks, Jaeonthebeat, and RedCoatKid. From crafting nearly 50 songs with Jaeonthebeat to creating standout records with RedCoatKid out of Sound Valley Studio in Arizona, each collaborator has played a role in shaping his evolving sound. He’s also worked with DJFlippp, a respected producer with platinum and gold records, further expanding his reach and experience in the industry.

Looking ahead, $onny is focused on consistency, growth, and seizing every opportunity that comes his way. With an upcoming appearance at the Rap Arena competition in Las Vegas on March 14, 2026—where major industry figures including Rick Ross are expected to be present—he’s ready to prove himself on a bigger stage. He’s also set to perform again on March 29 at Backstage Bar, continuing to build his reputation as a compelling live performer.
