Take a listen to the new, soulful EP from Columbus, Ohio group Topher James & Biscuit Brigade, led by front man Chris Shaw. Together with his band they are bringing some serious soul, pop, reggae, and r&b vibes into the scene around Ohio and the Midwest. They’ve recently released this stellar 6-track EP rich with funky guitar licks, smooth horn section melodies, and lyrically rich storytelling from Chris. The son of a music teacher and a librarian, Chris Shaw, aka Topher James chose the route of singer-songwriter. With an early interest in reggae, melody driven music, and rhythmically strong sounds it’s no wonder he has found a home in Soul and R&B music. This project is all about exploring songwriting through the soul lens bringing in seasoned players from all around to help shape the songs.
