Anna Thoresen Brings The Feels With “Party Girl’s Lament”

Originally from New Jersey, now residing in New York, Anna Thoresen brings all the feelings with “Party Girl’s Lament”. The 20 year old singer already has a 4th EP coming out later this year, where “Party Girl’s Lament” will reside.

Written and produced by Anna Thoresen, with additional guitar arrangements by Matthew Holdren (Matt & Hope), “Party Girl’s Lament” is driven by Anna’s emotive vocals and powerfully evocative lyrics, as she tells her story of a girl who can’t seem to run from her problems, no matter how much she tries to use drugs and alcohol to escape.

Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Party Girl’s Lament’, Anna Thoresen says,

“It comes from a very vulnerable, personal place that I don’t speak about often, but screams through my music. It’s about addiction, anxiety, and being in a dark place, and everyone around you is not too different, yet no one really talks about it. Addiction is way more common than we think, especially with underage high school and college kids, and nobody talks about it without feeling shame or guilt. I’d like to break the stigma by speaking on my own experiences”.

Anna Thoresen fell in love with music and performing at the age of 10, through her fascination with musical theatre, which carried through to high school, where she also joined the choir. While in college during the pandemic, she began recording her first single “I Think This Is Love?”, and she hasn’t looked back since. An excellent new pop-R&B prospect, the singer, songwriter, musician and producer comes with a glorious melting pot of sounds that fuses bedroom pop, alternative R&B and singer-songwriter sensibilities together with her penchant for personal relatable songwriting and captivating storytelling, to glorious effects.
