Woodfire emerges onto NYC music scene with Weird Fear EP

Brendon Goldwasser

We’re excited to premiere the new debut EP from Brooklyn-based rock and roll trio Woodfire. The band members include longtime friends Jesse Green (Bass), Jared Goldwasser (Drums), and Nathan Igdaloff (Guitar/Vocals). They became friends during their high school years in Ohio and bonded over similar musical interests. They’ve all played in several bands over the past decade or so, some of those projects with each other. Having stayed good friends over the years and with all three now living in Brooklyn, it was the perfect recipe for them to form Woodfire.

They released their first rough demo on Bandcamp in August 2015, their second in April 2016, and now they’re back with their official debut EP release Weird Fear. The project consists of five tracks that traverse through a multitude of sounds and styles, though they tend to stick to an overall vibe of straight rock and roll, in your face, and unapologetic. Fans of Spoon, The Black Keys, Weezer, and The Strokes will cozy up to Woodfire in no time. They can also draw similarities to The Doors and early RHCP. Personal favorites off this EP are “Wealthy In Time” and “Get Fooled.” Stream it below and on iTunes and Soundcloud.
