Vancouver singer-songwriter Ché Aimee Dorval recently released her new album Between The Walls And The Window. Ché’s latest work wraps her evocative vocals in distorted guitars and churning rhythms, bringing out the raw immediacy of her lyrics. “The new album marks a moment in my life where I know who I am both personally and musically,” she says. Today we’re thrilled to premiere the new video for the song “Afraid” below! The video focuses on Ché around Vancouver scenes that perfectly compliment the mood of the song. Her beautiful voice guides the way as you’re immediately drawn in to the compelling track.

In her own words:

“This song is probably the truest reflection of a part of myself that I’ve had to work very hard to try and quell. I can be quite a fearful person. It’s difficult for me to step outside of my comfort zone sometimes and that is especially true when it involves being in the spotlight. We thought it could be powerful, both visually and personally, to shoot me singing a song about fear in public prying places where I would have to muster every ounce of courage and confidence within myself to perform. The director’s own personal challenge was to keep the public out of the shot, which aside from the homeless man in the alley, he nailed. That said, the homeless man was wonderful and I think we could have used him more”
