SuperHeavy- “Miracle Worker”

So Mick Jagger keeps proving that he just won’t fade away like any of his super-mega-rockstar comrades. In May he announced that he’d formed a super group called SuperHeavy with Dave Stewart, guitarist for the Eurythmics, Joss Stone, soul-singer, Damien Marley, reggae prodigal son, and some guy from India…..Rolling Stone among many other publications seem not to care who he is! Fortunately we here at Groundsounds know that A.R. Rahmen is an Indian composer and superstar in his native land.

The first music video is for their single Miracle Worker has a heavy reggae groove with a feel good chorus. Everything sounds great on paper, with a diverse fusion melt of music. It seems like spicy and savory sounds will mix and overlap and new amazing music will be produced. While this reporter pretty much loves the idea of a global-influenced band (especially with Mick Jagger), this song is a solid C+ but the video is just bizarre. Watch and you’ll feel like you’re watching a United Colors of Beneton meets Diet Coke meets Super Bowl Half-time show. Everything just seems a bit contrived.
Check it out and enjoy the pink suit.
