An up and coming producer from the midwest is starting his own movement, doing things his own way, and goes by the name of Snook…learn about Snook below as we got the chance to chop it up with him this past week!

Sooo where does the name ‘Snook’ come from?!

That’s a good ass question. When I first started rappin I use to go by aug the great but found that it was too hard to say in my rhymes so I just started sayin a whole bunch of words thinkin of names and I was like Snook then I figured out I could say sndouleok like sndouble op like snoop which came off the tongue real nice so that’s basically it.. really really random

Your originally from Illinois right?…Where at in Illinois are you from?

Im from a lot of different places I moved around a lot but yea I was born in Chicago, western suburb of downers grove/bollingbrook,chi town is like my second home now I got alotta people out here. Also lived in San Francisco Cleveland, CIncinnati.

When did you relocate to Ohio?

After I was born in Chicago I moved to Cincinatti that’s where my sister was born, after that I moved to cali for a couple years and then I moved back to ohio (Cleveland) because my parents wanted us to grow up around our family which is in ohio and buffalo ny

How long have you been producing?

Shit prob goin on 10 years now

What got you into the art of beat making?

Always been into music, I started out playin the guitar as a child, my father kept us around music a lot as well so its always been present…but my mom bought me these turn tables when I was like 16 that I could compose loops on and I started messin around with that makin beats and was actually good at it so I figured id give this music shit a try..Pharrell and the Neptunes were a major influence though I really liked their sound cuz it was so different at the time so they are really the ones that got me started.

So you used to rap as well, why didnt you continue to pursue the avenue of rapping?

Never stopped man DROPPIN ALBUM/MIXTAPE DUE OUT LATER THIS SUMMER. Im about 10 songs deep already some select few people have heard the material its gonna be nice but I haven’t released anything to the public yet. Its hard man i’m in the corporate world and I do this music shit too u know how it goes….im livin double lives!!

What are your favorite softwares/hardwares to use for production?

Im strictly FL STUDIO its simple and Ive been usin it for years

Whose the biggest name to rap over one of your beats?

Never got a big placement before…I always like to work with small artists bc you never know who could be the next to blow….my next project after I finish this mixtape is to find an artist with a lil buzz team up and strictly produce for them

Man I really don’t know…so much has happened in the past year that was unexpected you can never really know you feel me…I hope to holdin down a steady career in marketing in the chi always tryin to advance myself…if I could afford to do music full time I would but I got bills to be paid this city isn’t cheap
