Weather McNabb Surmounts The Corporate Survival Skills in ‘Cubicle Zombie’

By SHARON JENNINGS

Cubicle Zombie is a five-song collection from musician Weather McNabb on how work-a-day people manage to survive in the corporate world.

It’s more of a question than a statement, but it’s clear Weather knows what she’s talking about, hustling all her life while balancing her musical aspirations.

Weather’s spent most of her life in Boston, but was born in Minneapolis. Her desire to pursue music was tempered by her need to survive and she In the aftermath of the Great Recession took on bookkeeping jobs. She kept track of her daily struggles with her songwriting.

In 2012 she partnered with Grammy-nominated producer Arty “Skye” Shweky on her first (unreleased) single titled “Join Me.”

Weather finished her undergraduate degree and made her move in 2016. She connected with Boston indie music legend and producer Peter Moore (Count Zero, Think Tree). They produced five songs for Weather’s debut EP.

The music on Cubicle Zombie underscores Weather’s strong vocals. Her voice ranges from a whisper to a power that heralds a strong woman singer. The style of this collection is alternative with a hint of renaissance rock, haughty in presentation and tantalizing in its twists and turns.
