Les Techno Creates a New Kind of Sound at the ‘Edge of the World’

By SHARON JENNINGS

Les Techno has brought an original song to the public’s waiting ear with “Edge of the World,” which is both a warning and a dare. There’s certain trouble ahead, but the message is scrambled and industrial sounding like a never-ending hammer pounding out a dire route to follow.

But this song sure has a good beat.

If there’s anyplace we want to be right now it’s at the party at the “Edge of the World,” because while the lyrics to this track are a a bit shocking, it’s a real dancer that invites people to bring their ’80s garb and throw it into a fire pit.

Les Techno – Edge of the World

“Like a moth on a summer’s night
Can’t resist the hot candle light
Swept over at the end of the road
Where you lose control
You’re at the party at the Edge of the World
Grab what you can at the Edge of the World”

There is an extremely unique sound to this record. Techno blends industrial and synth sounds for a pleasurable cacophony of tracks that on the surface seem to go off in different directions. But the rewarding final mix has all these opposing sounds coming together for a truly new and interesting innovation.

Techno’s voice is almost like a hot knife slicing through sheets of metal and his appearance blends the distant glare of the bespectacled DEVO with the artistic curiosity of David Byrne.

Do we dare want to know what’s at the “Edge of the World?”

Well, if it sounds this cool at the “Edge of the World,” then we’re on our way.
