‘Beyond Beyond’ Album by Lightning Hunter an Enriching Listening Experience

BY SHARON JENNINGS

Music runs the gamut of purposes today. It’s used for TV commercials, feature films, and still, it’s even played on terrestrial radio.

The music on Beyond Beyond, the new album by Lightning Hunter, is not meant for any of that. It is moving and emotional work that needs to be appreciated with a good pair of headphones and a nice drink in hand.

The work by talented composer Charles Scandura does what music is supposed to do: It connects with emotions and feelings.

Lightning Hunter has released a lush album with sweeping and melodic arrangements that makes the listener feel as if they’ve happily been transported into a dream.

The New York-based Scandura takes a real departure from the typical fare of today. There is plenty of innovation happening here and this album has the strength to cut through the clatter in the marketplace.

Lightning Hunter is basically a one-man band. Scandura is on guitar, bass, vocals and synth and Max Sadie on the live drums.

It seems obvious on one listen that Scandura has a penchant for composing music that can be used in film and TV production. His bio is lengthy and impressive and we look forward to more great work.
