Featuring vocalist Remy Remy and multi-instrumentalist Danny Import, electro-pop-rock blenders 12xPretty craft music for those stuck inside the simulation. Their latest single, “Caliphornia,” works through the dichotomy of what it means to work through the chasm of emptiness while still not fully succumbing to the void. With dramatic keystrokes and a robotic croon setting the scene, Import artfully builds towards an understated but bountiful wall of sound on “Caliphornia” rewarding repeat listeners.
“The music is intended for the sleepwalkers yearning to wake up,” Remy details. “Not unlike ourselves, who are simultaneously participating in the modern climate while exposing the depravity of it all.”
