Premiere: Willa Amai Continues to Amaze With ‘December’

From Los Angeles, California, Willa Amai has brought us some early christmas gifts for our ears with her latest single, ‘December’. Willa just amazes with her voice, and blends perfectly with the piano keys. This also gets you ready for that christmas vibes that are getting you closer each day! Willa is only starting up, and continues to show that she is here to stay.

You will be amazed to find out that, not only is Willa 16, she has been working on music since she was 9. To be picked up of course by the age of 12, to who you say? Why none other than 4 Non Blonde’s Linda Perry, who is currently working with Willa on her forthcoming album. Willa has not only worked with Linda, she has worked with the great Dolly Parton, too! Dolly had her work on “Here You Come Again” (recorded with Dolly herself and featured on the talent filled Dumplin’ soundtrack) with her. Esquirepraised the duet as “truly exceptional” and “one of the few moments that an accompanying voice is able to keep up with Parton’s.” Refinery29 hailed their interaction as “a passing of the torch.” In addition to her duet with Dolly, Willa had the opportunity to join another one of her musical influences when Brandi Carlile invited her to perform a duet at the Great American Music Hall. In addition to working with two stars, Willa has preformed on Ellen, performed with Brandi Carlile, and perfomed on The Today Show.

When asked how to describe this song Willa gave, “December is a Christmas song with a melancholy mood that battles with the acceptance of loneliness and remembrance in a time of joy and love. It’s about learning to be okay with yourself and with being alone, and finding happiness in who you already are.”
