The Offspring Is Back With ‘Let the Bad Times Roll’

For the first time in nearly ten years the band Offspring has put out some new music with the song, ‘Let the Bad Times Roll’. This song is off their upcoming album with the same title as the song, which is set to come out April 21st, 2021. The band has been working on the album, and planned to put it out last year, until the pandemic hit, causing some delays.

Something to get excited about as an Offspring fan, and any fan of Rock from the 90s. The Offspring had some classics that are still well known today with such titles as ‘Self-Esteem’, ‘The Kids Arn’t Alright’, ‘Pretty Fly for a White Guy’, and others. One of those bands that you hear and go, “I know this song, I have not heard this in ages,” or at the very least remembering back to when these songs came out.

The song as itself has that Offspring sound, with Frontman Dexter Holland’s voice, the right mixture of drums and riffs, and reminds us of that “old 90s rock’. The song is a great listen, and gives you all the nostalgia from a younger generation.

Dexter Holland said of the meaning behind ‘Let the Bad Times roll’, which was written in late 2019 and recorded last year: “I feel like we’re in a unique period in history where instead of our world leaders saying ‘we’re doing our best’ it’s more like they’re saying ‘fuck it’ and its really scary.” Guitarist Kevin ‘Noodles’ Wasserman added: “Folks are saying, if it’s all going to Hell, we might as well make the most out of it, or at least go out swinging. ‘Let The Bad Times Roll!’”
