Wellingta Wants Us To ‘Be True’ To Ourselves

Originally from Berlin, Germany, Wellingta, who now resides in London, England, has a message for each and every single one of us that we need to hear. That message is her new song, ‘Be True’ which is a positive vibe that tells us to ‘Be True’ to ourselves. With lines such as, “There’s only one of you, you got to be brave,” and, “Be True to yourself, there is nobody else but you and what you do for yourself.” Making the statement right off rip by saying you have to be brave, life gets crazy and you have to be brave in times that are grim. She also wants you to make sure that you are okay, because you have to believe in yourself when no one else will. This song wants to be that inspiration for you to be the best you can be, not to be the best, but because you deserve the best. Treat yourself, make that extra push for greatness when no one else wants you to, and do what you are doing for you.

As a German R&B singer and songwriter, Wellingta gears up to release her highly anticipated debut EP later this year. If the rest of the EP is anything like this we are going to have a good one on our hands. Born in Berlin, with Angolan and Brazilian heritage, and currently living in London, Wellingta –
whose name means ‘from the rich man’s farm’ – grew up in a musically rich family, where she grew
a penchant for all kinds of music, which can now be heard throughout her music, from R&B and
dancehall, to pop and afrobeats, to samba and global music. With influences that range from Beyonce to Maleek Berry, Wellingta comes with a multilingual cross-cultural fusion sound that she is excited to unleash in her highly anticipated upcoming debut EP.

Wellingta gives an important life lesson while describing her inspiration for ‘Be True’ with, “I have been working with my producer PRGRSHN on my upcoming EP and this track is one of our current favorite tracks, because of the message behind it. ‘Be True’ speaks to how we should strive to be our true selves in these hard times.
