PREMIERE: SZNS ‘Build A Boy’ Acoustic Version

Earlier this year, SZNS released their song ‘Build A Boy’, and today they are releasing an acoustic version! This version of the song really gets to show the talent of the four women that make up the all female band. ‘Build A Boy’ is a song about a girl building a boy who is better than her ex and has all the traits that he never had. It’s a powerful song, and the acoustic version gets down to the raw emotion of the lyrics. Los Angeles based SZNS gives a fresh new take on the classic 90’s girl group music we all know and love, blending elements of EDM, Latin-synth, and House inspired beats.

In order to better understand SZNS, one must first understand the unique personalities of each member- Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn.  Winter for instance is your shoulder to cry on, a listening ear and your biggest advocate, someone who’s there for you during those tough times. All Spring wants in life is to connect and heal people through her music, using her talents to help others grow through her art similarly to how the showers of April bring the beautiful flowers of May. Autumn on the other hand is the trouble maker of the group, some might see her tough exterior, but those closest to her in SZNS know she’s a real softie. You may expect her out on the town on a Friday night but you have a good a chance of finding her curled up on the couch watching Netflix. Summer is known for being the bubbliest of the group,  she can be found dancing everywhere she goes bringing her energy that turns even your darkest times to a bright sunny day. Together these four personalities come together to create the fresh high energy sound of SZNS.

“With the Build a Boy acoustic live version, you will hear a more raw side to SZNS. This song means so much to each of us and since it’s very different from what we are used to, we wanted to get up close and personal with you all. We’ve been waiting for the moment to sing this song live so we could really feel it come to life. With this organic version we were able to truly expose the vulnerability of the song. And with the production completely stripped down to just us and our lovely guitarist Joseph, we got to be in our feels! Being able to jump on some instruments ourselves was pretty cool too. We are so ready to start performing live but this was such a fun start. It’s unlike anything we’ve put out before so we are excited for you to hear it. If you like what you hear, check out our live shows we have coming up!”
