Today, Groundsounds presents Phil Crown acoustic version of his latest single, “Through It All”. Exclusively, on Groundsounds.com today, and out everywhere May 20th! Having an upbeat energy throughout with Phil’s lyrics and voice matching perfectly, makes for a great listen for anyone! “Through It All”, itself, is a self-reflective song for Phil as he dives into his life story and what can happen when the world around you is falling apart.  The song serves as the start of the next phase in Phil Crown’s career, where his R&B beginnings meld with the synths of electro-pop. Today, Phil Crown shows the acoustic side that focuses more on the lyrics and Phil’s voice. Which what he says was an intention.

“After people told me how much the lyrics meant to them I was inspired to take the track to another place. Somewhere that would give the lyrics more space and gravity. And from that THROUGH IT ALL acoustic was born.” – Phil Crown on “Through It All”

The fans have got what they are looking for with “Through It All” acoustic version today, and may have gotten more than what they expected. As well as following the non-acoustic version, his acoustic release comes shortly after Phil’s recent signing with Open Source Entertainment (OSE) as well as securing a distribution deal through Sony Orchard.

Musician Phil Crown’s life has taken him in so many directions, where the only way to express it, was through music. Phil recalls growing up loving music, from an early age singing along to the radio just felt natural to a young Phil, who needed an escape from the storms of his childhood. His parents experienced a tumultuous divorce, where his mother bounced from battered women’s shelters to friends’ sofas, with Phil and his brother in tow. It was during these hard times staying with friends and family where Phil would find his musical influences running the gamut of legends and genres, from Phil Collins to Michael Jackson.

By the time he reached his teenage years, all of his friends wanted to be rappers, so Phil joined in, penning rap lyrics and heading to the playground to form little cyphers.  While Phil was decent at rapping, his heart was in singing. By this point, he was inspired by the R&B greats from the ‘90s like Brian McKnight and Craig David, so he opted to quit his crew’s rap aspirations and join the high school choir as one of the lead male vocalists.

While he kept on singing, by the time he reached college, Phil had his mind on his money. He started a small cellphone business, taking his college years to expand it. Things changed though on Phil’s 21st  birthday in Las Vegas when he by chance was stopped while singing in the halls by someone claiming to be a “music executive.” He put his all into his business, quickly evolving into one of the largest cellphone exporters in the U.S. for Apple products. The company grew in 18 months from making $200 to six figures. This gave him the financial freedom to travel the world and still pursue music. He later formed a cryptocurrency mine before the boom, which only amplified his business savvy and drive to make music. Since then Phil has been able to collaborate with producers like Michael “M.I.” Cole  (Rick Ross, Usher), LunchMoney Lewis (Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj) and more!
