Wet Ashes is a rock band with influences ranging from Post Punk, Brit Rock, New Wave to Shoegaze. Their new Album “The Main Mane” draws upon similar inspirations but in comparison with their previous albums, the composition is more mature and the arrangements and sound layers are much richer. Today we are excited to premiere their video for the track “Battles Along The Way” – streaming below. The video is incredibly captivating and will completely draw you in from the first few seconds…our advice is to turn it up loud, sit back, and enjoy!

In their own words:

“Battles Along The Way” was written in Chicago on a cold November, and the melody and chords captured that moment of nostalgia and reflection. As described by a close friend is an indie rock ballad wrapped in a stunning soundscape of folky drums, warm electric guitar leads and lush keys that touches a fine emotional fiber in listeners. The song has the rare ability to go from a melancholic vibe on the verses to an uplifting chorus.

This track is the first single of our new full album “The Main Mane”, it was carefully selected by the band as a song that could show a side of the band not seen before. The song had that special magic of inspiring the best contributions from each of the band members.

The video was shot in Guadalajara, Mexico and it portrays a couple wandering through the wilderness contemplating the obstacles hindering their relationship. We hope “Battles along the Way” inspires the listener to reflect upon their own setbacks, pivotal moments, challenges or whatever hard decision that made them find a new beginning.
