From his home deep in the forests of the Austrian Alps, Chris Comper makes music as Prinz Grizzley. His musical journey began with indie-rock outfit Golden Reef, including a brief detour into synth-pop, before he struck out on his own and found his voice in Americana. As Prinz Grizzley, Comper has released three critically acclaimed albums, taking his soulful, roots-driven sound to stages and festivals around the world, including SXSW, AmericanaFest, Folk Alliance International, Kilkenny Roots Festival, and Montreux Jazz Festival.
His latest song “Reign On, Queen of Mountains (A Price To Pay),” is off of his upcoming project ‘Tilda’ out October 9th. The track is a fast-paced, uptempo bluegrass number that radiates a cheerful sense of hope, while its lyrics deliver a darker warning: our careless relationship with nature could ultimately spell our demise. At its core, it’s a protest song urging us to teach the next generation how to live in harmony with the natural world.
