Summertime officially has a soundtrack. Waiting For The Dawn, the debut full-length album from The Mowgli’s is a toe-tapping, sing-a-long guide to enjoying Summer.

If you’ve known about The Mowgli’s, you’ll recognize the hit single “San Francisco,” as well as “Slowly, Slowly,” “The Great Divide,” and “Carry Your Will.” The energy, passion, and love (The Mowgli’s favorite word) continue to shine with the other ten songs. “Clean Light” and “Say It, Just Say It” are upbeat, catchy songs that fit perfectly right alongside “San Francisco.” The band showcases their variety and creativity on songs like “Hi, Hey There, Hello,” “Waiting For The Dawn,” and the six and a half minute “We Are Free.”

With elements of folk, rock, and plenty of sun-soaked pop hooks, WFTD is almost guaranteed to please. The band knows how to write a hit song, and more impressively—they know how to craft a complete album. As if that wasn’t enough, The Mowgli’s have infused their music with incredibly positive and optimistic lyrics and messages. The album is perfect for summer drives with the windows down, beach barbecues, camping trips, or any fun outdoor activity.

In a time where many of today’s musical giants have dark or negative messages, it’s important to notice and embrace a band like The Mowgli’s. Waiting For The Dawn is a genuine collection of songs meant to inspire happiness and goodwill. To borrow from “San Francisco,” it’s time to fall in love with love.

The album is fantastic from start to finish, but if I had to single out some ‘must listen’ tracks, go check out “San Francisco,” “Clean Light,” “Emily,” “Say It, Just Say It,” and “Carry Your Will.”
