This Is Our Night:

This song came together really fast. I wrote the song one day, brought it to practice the following day, and we all had it down within a couple hours. For us, it’s all about the live show, so we really wanted a high energy, fun song on the EP. The song is just about having fun and living in the moment.

Stand Tall:

This was by far the hardest song to write. I wrote the original version earlier in 2015 and it was completely different. We all liked it but thought it was lacking something. Everyone worked really hard on it for a while and we just couldn’t think of anything. Sheppard suggested playing a more “groovy” or dance-like beat, and that’s when we all felt inspired again. Alex came up with some cool stuff on guitar and the song felt perfect.

The song is about the current state of the world from my perspective. It’s about how almost anyone or anything can be bought and sold. There is no integrity or honesty when greed is involved.

One More Day:

This song was the last one to be written for the EP. It wasn’t too challenging to bring together as we all felt the vibe of the idea really fast. The first thing I brought to the guys was the chorus and everyone was really stoked. Once we practiced the idea a few times, we came up with the rest of the song in about an hour. One More Day is essentially about ignoring negativity and unneccisary pressure and just living life to have fun.

Let Me Be:

Let Me Be has been an idea for a relatively long time. It was one of the first songs I wrote for this band actually. Alex sent me an idea he had for an intro and it ended up becoming Let Me Be. We’ve tried to use the song in the past but there was always something we didn’t like about it. We made it faster, changed the key, and changed some parts around. After tweaking it several times over the course of a couple months we finally were happy with the song. Let Me Be is my message to overly religious people who feel that everyone should conform to their beliefs.
