PREMIERE: 4a Stables Unveils “Pie Oh My” | New LP Out 3/30

“Expansive” and “cinematic” are two adjectives commonly used to describe the sounds of particular bands. But it’s the work of a supergroup of sorts, 4a Stables, that funnels these artistic impulses away from traditional song structures and towards more experimental, world-building aural landscapes.

4a Stables features the talents of multi-instrumentalists Colin Ryan, Jeremy Benson, and Rob Lombardo, who have played and toured the country together in bands Roadside Graves and Alex Delivery over the past 15 years. The idea for the group came together as an actually realized New Year’s Day fit of ambition, with a debut LP, Bugboy, out March 30th via BNS Sessions. GroundSounds has the premiere of the album’s latest single, “Pie Oh My,” today.

On the track, 4a Stables open the mind’s eye welcoming you to a sort of unwelcome place, if you don’t know how to operate. It’s a soundtrack for a bustling, rough-and-tumble city with new stories living on every backstreet. It’s the sort of atmosphere Tom Waits wouldn’t mind wading into.
