Orlando progressive post-rock band Letters To Part was initially an outlet to cope with the tragic passing of Singer/Guitarist, Y’shua Ortiz-Escobedo’s cousin in 2010. He began to find himself crafting songs that illustrated his grieving process resulting in the release of the band’s EP back in 2012. Fast forward a few years, Letters To Part, consisting of Y’shua Ortiz-Escobedo (Vocals), Austin Allison (Guitar), Hunter Gelsen (Guitar), Dustyn Murphy (Drums), and Christopher Ramos (Bass) released their debut full-length A Human Curse last summer via Wilhelm Records. Today we’re excited to premiere their new video for “Richard Scarry” below! The video does a great job of telling a story and the color choices help match the mood to the intensity of the track. It’s rare to find a band create a video that cinematic and gripping…the final minute has you glued to the screen.

In their own words:

“Richard Scarry” is about loving someone so much, that it pushes them away. The beginning of a relationship shows traits and qualities that eventually start to diminish over time, leading to a lack of confidence within one partner and causing the other to distance themselves completely. It causes a back and forth that can ultimately be too much and you begin to evaluate everything, realizing that while two people have grown together they have also grown apart.
