Watch: Ayoinmotion Shares Undeniable Video For “Peculiar Mess”

Shining synths and a drum beat waste no time getting you to move. Within the first 10 seconds, Ayoinmotion’s visual for “Peculiar Mess” had my curiosity, but once the camera swooped in on two young girls hitting crazy dance moves in the aisle of a NYC bodega, I knew this was extra special.

From a classic corner store, to some energetic choreo on the subway, and a dance circle featuring one girl hitting the Nae Nae while her friends cheer her on, this video is undeniably adorable and extremely addictive all at once…and that’s just through the first chorus.

As more iconic New York City scenes are unveiled, so are increasingly experienced dancers, ready to show you this song isn’t just a fun track for the club, but a serious addition to the wave of afrobeats taking over the Western music scene. The video is a quick 2:30 tour of NYC, but watch it all and you’ll be surprised how much it ramps up to keep the beat fresh and fiery.

Peculiar Mess is Ayoinmotion’s first single and video of 2018, and it is taking off after trending in parts of Asia and being added to a few major afrobeats playlists. Ayo is no newbie to high energy dance tracks, last summer his song “Gbesoke” took over social media and racked up 10k plays with a cosign from Essence Magazine. On top of that he’s opened for major acts including Davido, Talib Kweli, Gyptian, and Ayo Jay.
