Dallas, TX based artist Salim Nourallah is set to release his sprawling new double album Somewhere South of Sane tomorrow on Palo Santo Records. In anticipation, he’s been releasing a new track every day, and we’re thrilled to premiere the track “Sleepwalking” today! We always enjoy and anticipate seeing how artists choose to close albums, so premiering the final song on this immense album is a treat for us. “Sleepwalking” is a fitting end to the album, drifting along peacefully, subtle but powerful. We’re excited for this song (and now the whole album) to be out in the world. Turn it up loud and enjoy!

In his own words:

The “honeymoon” stage of love feels so good because that other person still thinks you’re the coolest thing ever. It’s a pretty big rush, feeling like you can almost do no wrong in someone else’s eyes. I believe we all want to be “seen” by others, seen for the unique or admirable qualities we think we possess. Once a relationship has entered the phase found in this song, both sides have ceased being able to “see” the other. Or what they see is mainly the negative characteristics. So we become “Sleepwalking” caricatures of ourselves. I was in a situation like this for many years, and this song came out of that period of my life. It still makes me sad to hear it. I hope to never go back to anything like that ever again, yet this record and so many other things would have never come to fruition if I hadn’t lived through it.
